At the forefront

At Nordic Brass Gusum AB, we work with sustainability in various forms. 

Recycling

95 percent of our raw material comes from recycled material, and a large part comes from leftover material when our customers further process the brass.

Own return system

Chips and scrap are collected from our customers in connection with our deliveries and are remelted into new brass. In Sweden, we have loop trucks for most of our customers, and these run on HVO100.

Fossil-free energy

Our electricity supply comes exclusively from fossil-free energy sources.

Internal energy recycling

We make use of the surplus heat created in our process to heat our facilities.

Lowest CO2 emissions in its class

When melting brass, Nordic Brass Gusum is the best in the world when it comes to CO2 emissions.

AquaNordic® – lead-free brass

Nordic Brass Gusum has developed a production method for lead-free brass, AquaNordic®.

The alloys are lead-free and have high machining properties at the same level as brass with higher lead content. All alloys meet regulatory requirements and are one hundred percent recyclable.

ISO Certifications

We work systematically with environmental issues using an environmental management system certified according to ISO 14001.    

We work in the same way with quality and energy issues and are also certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 50001.
